PAU to hold convocation of College of Agriculture on January 28

Ludhiana, January 19, 2015: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will hold the annual convocation and prize distribution function of the College of Agriculture on January 28 at Pal Auditorium of the University. Dr R.R.Hanchinal, Chairperson, Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority, Government of India will be the chief guest. Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU will preside over the convocation. 

Giving details, Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Dean of the College, said that during the convocation, 106 and 86 pass outs of B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons), 41 and 37 pass-outs of B.Sc. Biotechnology (Hons.) for the year 2012 and 2013, respectively, and 22 pass-outs of B.Tech. Food Technology (Hons.) during the year 2013 will be awarded degree. In addition, a total of 17 medals including six Gold Medals will be conferred upon the meritorious students. One student will be conferred upon J.S. Pruthi Prize and a total of 44 students will be awarded Merit Certificates, he added. Dr Dhaliwal called upon the students, who completed their graduation from the College during the years 2012 and 2013, to visit the College on January 27, 2015 at 9 a.m. for necessary identity verification and compulsory rehearsal at 2 p.m. on the same day.
