Ludhiana, April 23, 2015: The Department of Extension Education of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a campaign on the adoption of PAU recommended varieties of paddy under the guidance of Dr R.K. Kalra, Professor& Head, Department of Extension Education, PAU. The five-day campaign was organized in the villages of Lalton, Jodhan, Pamal, Pamali, Abbuwal, Rattowal, Mohi, Rakhra, Eshewal, and Jhande of Ludhiana district. The faculty members namely Dr J.S. Bhalla, Dr Dharminder Singh, Dr Vipan Rampal, Dr Lavleesh Garg and Dr Pankaj Kumar talked about the recommended varieties of paddy. Dr Kalra shared the benefits of PAU varieties and disadvantages of unrecommended varieties of paddy with the farmers. The posters were displayed showing the PAU recommended varieties. Besides, group discussions were held in the villages. The campaign received an overwhelming response from the farmers.
