PGI team identifies land for satellite centre at Ferozepur

Horticulture department to provide land on Ferozepur-Moga road
Ferozepur, October 11, 2017: In a big push towards the setting up of PGI satellite centre in Ferozepur district, a team from PGI Chandigarh today visited the city to examine the earmarked land for the centre besides other formalities. The team comprising Doctor Ashok Gupta, Dr.Sanjay Jain, P.S.Saini Executive engineer , Mr.N.K.Malik and Mr.Shivank architects etc.
Deputy Commissioner Mr.Ramvir informed that the team has also chaired a meeting with the officials of the district administration to chalk out a comprehensive plan for the construction of the satellite centre. It may be mentioned here that land for satellite centre has been earmarked on Ferozpur-Moga road, belongs to the Horticulture department of the Punjab Government. The team have also a brain storming session with the district administration regarding the transfer of land to health department, and finalizing map plan for electricity and water supply and sewerage facility at the site. Deputy Commissioner also said that the district administration have already started the procedural work regarding the construction of the centre as the site has better road connectivity. The team would submit its report to the Director PGI for completion of further procedure so that the construction work of this coveted project could be start as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, MLA ferozepur Urban Mr. Parminder Singh Pinky, who was making strenuous efforts for setting of this prestigious project in remote area of the state since long, said " the establishment of PGI satellite centre at ferozepur would provide the world class health facilities not only to the residents of the ferozepur district but also to the people from nearby districts of the Punjab and Rajasthan. He also said that "It was a long pending demand of the people as the border belt faced lack of medical facilities since independence but now the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has ensured the project to turn into reality. He also informed that the Punjab Government would also establish a medical and nursing college in the district.
