Jalandhar, February 24,2013: In a road accident occurred near Lilly Resort, a head constable posted with Phagwara police was killed on the GT road on Friday night.
The accident occurred when Manjit Singh, posted with Phagwara police, on his motorcycle, was going towards Phagwara. He was hit by an unidentified vehicle (Tata 407) from behind.
The accused driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the accident site.
On reaching the site of the accident Rakesh Kumar ASI posted at Rama Mandi police station, immediately rushed the victim to the Civil Hospital. The body of Manjit Singh was handed over to the nearest kin of the victim after the post mortem examination.
The Rama Mandi police have registered a case of hit and run against an unidentified driver of the vehicle.
