Ludhiana, May 29, 2017: Finally a batch of 7 trainees left for training in ‘Printed Electronics’ & ‘3D Printing’ at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) on 20th May 2017. AIFMP had signed an agreement with at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) to provide print education in ‘3D printing’ and ‘Print electronics’ to Indian print professionals, students and teachers in printing. The highly subsidised training schedule has been specially fabricated for the members and other print entrepreneurs of the country.

The first batch of training is being conducted from May 22 to August 18, 2017. During a simple but warm send-off ceremony at Hotel Pride Plaza, New Delhi, Prof. Kamal Chopra, President AIFMP greeted the first batch and persuaded them return back after enriching their knowledge in ‘Printed Electronics’ and ‘3D Printing’. The first batch includes Mr. Parag Hase who is teaching Printing at Baba Sahib Ambedkar University, Aurangabad and other six are the kith and kin of printers of India.

At this ceremony, Mr Satish Malhotra, Former President, AIFMP; Mr Rajiv Gupta, President and Mr Rajesh Sardana, General Secretary, DPA specially came to bless the first batch of trainees. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rajiv Gupta said, it is excellent opportunity provided by the AIFMP, and I wish more and more members and other printers of India may come forward to take the benefit from this opening. Mr. Satish Malhotra was of the view that since such training is not available in India and it is very well evident that future of printing lies in these technologies, it is commendable gesture of AIFMP to provide training in these subjects at such a subsidised rate. Mr. Sardana complemented AIFMP and said, BIGC is the world’s largest university of printing the group has a fair chance to learn print matters for the future. The parents of these trainees were also happy some of them were present during this ceremony and thanked AIFMP for such efforts.

Giving details of the scheme Prof. Kamal Chopra said, it is for the first time ever that the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) has brought such an exclusive opportunity for the people-in-print in India. The future printing may evolve through value addition and mass production one end. On the other end ‘Printed Electronics’ may bring boom in packaging. It is said that the market of ‘Printed Electronics’ may be 300 per cent more than the market of packaging today. It is noticed that proper training in both, ‘3D Printing’ and ‘Printed Electronics’ is not available in India. There is no prescribed qualification for this short course, print professional of any age, sex can apply, however, since the training is to be provided in English, it is therefore ability to communicate and understand the English language may be necessary.

Prof. Kamal Chopra, further added that presently the students of first batch are getting exclusive training at BIGC. The course studies include lecture, demonstrations and practical workshops on advance printing technologies relating to ‘3D Printing’ and ‘Printed Electronics’. Visit to a range of printing companies using these techniques will also be part of course curriculum.
The next batch of the training is scheduled to commence in the month of September 2017 and registration is open for the second batch.
