SAS NAGAR Mohali, July 6, 2015: Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab with the senior officers and academician of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) and SCERT to deliberate upon the academic reforms in the state.
While presiding the joint meeting of PSEB and SCERT Dr. Cheema said that both the wings should launch a campaign to bring about quality change in the academic scenario. He stressed that teachers should be given training with modern methodology using the up to date academic research module so as to equip them with the modern challenges being faced by the education field.
Later in the day Dr. Cheema held another meeting with the recently formed core group to investigate the reasons behind the poor result of English subject. In this meeting Principal and English Lecturers of the DIET and in service training institute gave detailed presentation depicting the reasons of poor result of English subject. Dr Cheema has called another meeting of the core group on August 10 to deliberate upon the poor result of Punjabi, Hindi and Math subjects.
Prominent among others who were present in the meeting included Mr. C Roul, Principal Secretary, Mr. Pardeep Aggarwal, DGSE, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (SS), Mr. Gurdeep Singh, Special Secretary, Mrs.Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Chairperson, PSEB, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, Director, SCERT, Dr. Ginni Duggal, Deputy Director, SCERT.
