PUNJAB CM expresses shock over tragic road accident of police vehicle on way to Fatehgarh

Chandigarh, March 18, 2013: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed deep shock and anguish over the tragic accident of Punjab Police Vehicle on the Khamano - Fatehgarh road near village Lohari  in which six staff members of Khamano Police station were killed and 11 others were injured. The driver of the vehicle carrying these Policemen to Fatehgarh Sahib via Sanghol for participating in weekly parade, lost control and resulted in collision with tree on the roadside.

Badal directed the Civil and Police administration to extend all possible help to ensure best and free treatment to all the injured to save their precious lives. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also announced an ex Gratia grant Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased besides a financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for the seriously injured.

Badal shared his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty to give them courage to bear this irreparable loss in the hour of crisis and grant peace to the departed souls.
