Ludhiana, December 27, 2013: Badish Jindal, National President, FASII, has said in another sheer insult to state industry the Punjab Government once again failed to apply any cluster in MSE-CDP scheme of Ministry of MSME, in the 34th Steering Committee meeting to approve the clusters, yesterday in Delhi, which was held after 5 months, Punjab did not apply any grant for industry.
Whereas the neighboring state Haryana got approved their 8 IID’s (Integrated Industrial Infrastructure Scheme) in which the Haryana will upgrade the focal points as under:
Jhajjar 555Acres MSME Grant: 6 crore state govt.: 4.42 crores
Sonepat 560Acres MSME Grant: 5.25crores state govt.: 3.50crores
Karnal 152Acre MSME Grant: 3.80crore state govt.: 1.25 crore
KUNDLI 621ACRE MSME Grant: 5.39crore state govt.: 3.59 crore
Rohtak 65ACRE MSMEGrant: 3.49 Crore State Govt: 2.33 Crore
Rewari 1200Acre MSME Grant: 5.86Crore State Govt: 3.91 Crore
Samalkha 25ACRE MSME Grant: 36 lac stategovt: 24 lac
Beside this Haryana also got approved one Hard Intervention of CFC and got the grant of Rs.3.56 crore for foundry and got approved one DSR of Printing Cluster in Karnal.
And behind this there is a single person the Director of Industry of Haryana Ashok Sangwan where as Punjab did not apply any cluster in IID or CFC, said Jindal.
He added beside this the very small states such as Arunachal, Assam, Meghalaya and J& K also got their projects approved form the MSME Ministry.
The Cluster Development Programme is in very bad shape in Punjab and the man responsible behind this is the Director of Industry of Punjab as it’s his sole responsibility to get the projects done under these schemes.
The Industrial Focal Points in Punjab are in worst shape and the bankruptcy of Municipal Corporation is adding to the woes, under such circumstances the best remedy was to get the grant from MSME under IID scheme for up gradation of these Industrial Areas.
The DSRs prepared by the SPVs months back are still pending for approval in the Chandigarh office of Industry Department, and the clusters of Punjab are failed to get any grant from the ministry since last eight months due to non submission of the Utilisation Certificate of machine tool cluster which is dying due to its internal politics.
