STATE LEVEL FUNCTION IN MEMORY OF MARTYRS HELD AT HUSSAINIWALA (FEROZEPUR)
Hussainiwala (Ferozepur), March 23, 2017: The Punjab state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is all committed to make the dreams of martyrs come true and put an end to corruption, unemployment, illiteracy and drugs. The Finance Minister Punjab Mr Manpreet Singh Badal said this while paying tributes to the martyrs Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh, S Rajguru and Sukhdev Singh, Raj Mata Vidyawati and Battukeshwar Dutt and others at the martyrs’ memorial at Hussainiwala. He also paid tributes to hundreds of unsung heroes of the struggle for freedom. MLA Mr Parminder Singh Pinki, Mrs Satkar Kaur Gehri and Mr Kulbir Singh Zira were also present.
Addressing the state level function held in the memory of martyrs, the finance minister S Manpreet Singh Badal said that the races that forget their martyrs never flourish and slip into the oblivion of history. He said that the people of state have shown great belief in Captain Amarinder Singh led Congress government. On the auspicious occasion of martyrdom today, he asserted people to make the martyrs’ dreams come true and stand true to the people’s expectations. He said that the state government will spend Rs 4 cr on beautification and modernization of the memorial at Hussainiwala border.

S Manpreet Singh Badal said that there are challenges before Punjab and the country. These challenges can be met with only when we work together, think together. He said that the state government will be organizing a state level function to commemorate Baisakhi at Jallianwala Bagh, Sri Amritsar Sahib on April 13, 2017. He added that the Punjab government will work towards making the martyrs’ dreams come true.

S Manpreet Badal added that the people of border districts have faced problems from the times of India’s struggle for freedom till today and Punjab government was well aware of these problems. He announced that industries will be set up in the border districts to provide means of livelihood and employment to the people here, which will also propel state’s economy.

Area MLA Mr Parminder Singh Pinki too paid rich tributes to the martrys and apprised finance minister about the problems of people of border areas and Ferozepur. He thanked the finance minister for announcing Rs 4 cr for the beautification and modernization of martyrs’ memorial.

The chief guest honored the family members of national martryrs and freedom fighters. SSP Fazilka Dr Ketan Baliram Patil led cycle rally of 1400 cyclists to the Hussainiwala border paying tributes to the martyrs.

Ferozepur divisional commissioner Sh VK Meena, DC Ferozepur Mr Ramvir MLA Mr Davinder Singh Ghubaiya, DIG Dr Sukhchain Singh gill, SSP Ferozepur Mr Gaurav Garg and others were present.
