PUNJAB GOVT OFFERS SPECIAL CHANCE TO SC/BC SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATES

APPLICANTS COULD SUBMIT THEIR OFFLINE APPLICATIONS ON DECEMBER 19 AND 20: SADHU SINGH DHARAMSOT
CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 1, 2017: The Scheduled Caste, Backward Classes & Minority Welfare Minister, Punjab, S.Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, informed that the Punjab government has decided to provide special chance for applying for post matric scholarship schemes by submitting their documents personally in the welfare department. The special chance has been given to those candidates who had failed to get themselves registered online on the portal of the welfare department.

The welfare minister said that they have decided to accept the manual applications of such candidates on December 19 and 20. Notably, some of the candidates failed to get themselves registered for the scholarship schemes on the website of the government due to the mismatch of the particulars of their respective Adhaar cards and other supporting documents.

Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that such students should submit their application forms manually in the office of the department in their respective regions along with print out of rejected online application, attendance sheet attested by the institution, copy of Adhaar card and bank pass book with one passport size photo. He added that in the case of renewal of the scholarship scheme, the candidate should submit User ID of previous year, self declaration form filled with all particulars required for online application, fees amount and application to be attested by the head of the institute.

Mr. Dharamsot said that the candidates of Patiala, Sangrur, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, SAS Nagar and Roopnagar districts should submit their offline applications in the office of welfare officer of Patiala district. He added that the candidates of Fazilka, Faridkot, Moga and Ferozepur districts should submit their applications in the officer of district welfare officer of Ferozepur district and those from Bathinda, Mansa, Sri Mukatsar Sahib and Barnala districts should submit the manual forms in Bathinda district’s welfare office. He said that the applicants of Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Pathankot and Gurdaspur districts should submit the offline forms in the office of Jalandhar welfare officer.

Mr. Dharamsot stated that the special chance has been offered to only those candidates who had failed to get themselves registered online due to the mismatch of their Adhaar card particulars within the stipulated time limit. He added that the case of those candidates who failed to apply within the prescribed time limit, the state government would take up the matter with Union government for the extension in the time limit.
