Punjab State Forest Development Corporation Ltd To Launch Awareness Among Farmers: Reena Jaitley

Jalandhar: While talking to City Air News here recently, Punjab state Forest Development Corporation Limited Chairman Smt Reena Jaitley said that she was committed towards increasing forest cover in Punjab and simultaneously creating atmosphere of awareness among the masses especially among farmers through various schemes that can benefit them in the coming time.

She said that 132 Board of Directors’ meeting was held recently and it was the 33rd meeting of share holders in which under her chairmanship 100% dividend was announced for the share holders for the Year 2015-2016. She said that the P.S.F.D.C had posted profit of Rs 2.45 Crores. She said the modern nurseries will produce High Breed sapling which will certainly benefit the farmers as well the Corporation.

She said that Memorandum of Undertaking (M.O.U.) has been signed between Forest Department and Forest Corporation. While in the meeting Vice Chairman S Gurbachan Singh Mokha said that need of time is take action on those trees who have either dried or the their branches are a threat towards any mishappening in future. A committee headed by Mr. Kuldeep Kumar I.F.S. will soon take up the issue with the National Green Tribunal. Others present were Mohammad Tahib I.A.S. Special secretary Forest, Jatinder Sharma M.D., I.F.S., Kuldeep Kumar I.F.S. and other senior officials of the Department.
