Chandigarh, March 22, 2017: Minister for Power and Irrigation, Punjab Rana Gurjeet Singh today said that he was not opposed to removing of the beacon lights from the ministers’ vehicles. He also clarified that he was not using the beacon lights since the day it was decided by the cabinet to do away with these.

Referring to some reports in a section of media suggesting that he was opposed to the move, Rana said, he had made the comment about the use of beacon lights in a lighter vein and that too one day before it was decided by the cabinet that nobody will use the beacon lights.

Rana said, as a minister he was part of the cabinet decision and he was bound by it. “Besides, I am bound by whatever is decided by our honourable Chief Minister”, he added.
