Residents protest against PSPCL, Kitchlu Nagar office

Ludhiana, March 20, 2014: Hundreds of residents of Chand Colony, Mehar Singh Nagar, Dairy Complex B Block and Haibowal Khurd on Thursday under the banner of Teja Singh Swatanar Mohalla Sudhar Committee gheraoed the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Kitchlu Nagar office here to protest against the apathy in solving the problems of the residence of these colonies.
Protestors demanded necessary action to streamline the electricity supply in these areas for several months. They condemned the attitude of the officials concerned towards the low economic group colonies and demanded solution to their problems. They alleged that under the pressure of some political leaders, transformers are being changed and new transfer being put at certain places which do not require these. But the poor colonies are being neglected. The residence gave one week’s notice otherwise they will resort to agitation.
The SHO of the area also reached the spot and talked to the SDO concerned. After the assurance the gherao was lifted.  
Surjit Singh, Mohinder Singh, Randhir Singh, Samir Sharma, Beera Khan, Ram Kishan, Kulwant Singh, Janak Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Harwinder Singh, Ram Kumar, Balwinder Singh and Ramadhar Singh were among those who participated in the protest.
