Restart Ludhiana City Bus Service on Rajguru to Mini Secretariat route: Ahbaab Grewal

Ludhiana, December 25, 2016: Ahbaab Grewal, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Candidate from Ludhiana West on behalf of the residents of his constituency demanded the administration to restart the Ludhiana City Bus Service on the Rajguru Nagar to Mini Secretariat route which has been discontinued from August, 2016.

Ahbaab Singh Grewal said that “This bus service besides being highly convenient, was highly economical to the commuters. It being a public transport was also safer for the women folk. This public transport was also less polluting thus contributing to being environment friendly. Discontinuation of City Bus Service on this route is causing a lot of inconvenience and harassment to the residents of this area and is also an extra burden on already weak financial conditions.”

Ahbaab Singh Grewal further added that,”As per authorities the reason given for discontinuation is that it was not economically viable. In that case, it is suggested that instead of taking the route from interior areas, the bus service can run from Mullanpur to the Mini Secretariat. This route will be highly profitable while being convenient for the residents too. It was high time that the Administration started thinking in terms of public good rather than just making profit at the expense of the residents of the City.”
