Ferozpeur, July 17, 2013: A row has erupted over abolishing institution of patwaris recommending amendment in the existing land laws to deal with cases of land grab.
The representative of Ferozepur Unit of Revenue Patwar Union, Punjab, Harmeet Vidyarthi alongwith Gurtej Singh Gill Auditor Punjab, Santokh Singh Takhi, General Secretary, Rachhpal Singh, Cashier, speaking to this correspondent said, “In case the institution is to be closed because of few corrupt or irresponsible officials, then none of the institution would be left for such recommendations”.
The Patwari Union has demanded from the state government to clear its position on the subject.
