SADDA HAQ – a film on Punjab Militancy to be released on April 5

Ludhiana, 28 March, 2013: "Sadda Haq" a Punjabi movie by OXL Films, is going to be a sensational flick which will be depicting the real picture of Punjab during the militancy days of 1980s and ‘90s. Adorned with commendable performances from the cast, blended with an awe-inspiring story which is worth telling and seasoned with every other ingredient; Sadda Haq would be a heart-touching spectacle of distressing past of Punjab. The film is ready for the release on 5 April. This was announced at a press conference here today. 

Besides the star cast of the film-- Kuljinder Singh Sidhu, Pramod Mathoo, Gaurav Kakkar, Dhriti Saharan and Himanshi, few prominent guests were also present on the occasion, including Ashok Malhotra (Secretary, Durga Mata Mandir Committee) and Mukesh Soin (President, Hindu Samaj Suraksha Committee).   Yogesh was also present, who has played a special character as a CBI Officer.

Dinesh Sood, actor and producer of the film, said, “Purpose of the movie is to inform and create awareness in the youth of the ground reality of what happened in Punjab during those days. Through the film we want to clear the misunderstandings between Hindu and Sikh population and to inform them about what actually happened and what facts government presented to the people.”

Kuljinder Singh Sidhu, co-producer and lead actor, said, “The movie, my dream project, says 'History Repeats Itself', which means that youth should be informed of the reality otherwise terrorism can revive back.”

‘Sadda Haq’is a story of a hockey player- Kartar Singh Bazz, whose circumstances weighed down his passion for the game and compelled him to be a militant instead. It is a story of many aspiring young people of those times whose desires were encountered with the prevailing circumstances.

The Director Mandeep Benipal has done an impeccable job in making this film into one of the sensible movies in Punjabi. The splendid musical score by Jatinder Shah, Background Score by Salil Amrute, well sung songs by Lehmber Hussainpuri,Kamal Khan, Jassi Jasraj, Raj Kakra, Manjira and Fathey Shergill will add a soft touch to the film.

Eight cinemas across UK have confirmed screening of ‘Sadda Haq’. 25 Cinemas across Punjab and Chandigarh have already decided to screen the movie. The movie would also be screened in Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of India where there is Punjabi population.
