Pune, July 14, 2017 - SANY India, a leading manufacturer of construction, heavy machinery and renewable equipment, recently joined hands with an NGO ‘Environmental Forum of India’ for a canal cleaning project in Baramati. As a part of its contribution, SANY India provided SY210 C-9 Long Reach excavator by which truckloads of waste and silt was removed from the canal and the bed was dredged to increase its water holding capacity. The 2 Km long canal which was built for irrigation and drinking water was not cleaned for 3 years. This initiative was spearheaded by ‘Environmental Forum of India’, which is tirelessly working towards the natural conservation.

Mr. Dheeraj Panda, VP and Head, Excavator Business Unit, SANY India said, “We at SANY are committed to conserving the environment and are extremely happy to contribute towards this noble initiative. We wish to see the canal in its original form as a free flowing, clean water source.”

NGO spokesperson- Sachin Satav said, “From our experience SANY machines are fuel efficient and versatile. Their sturdiness makes them suitable for ‘Jalyukt Shivar’ programme. We have used these machines for over 3000 hours where their output has been exceptionally good. I expect that this project in association with SANY India will help us cleaning the canal in the most effective way”

This project will provide relief to all the residents and farmers in Baramati.
