SEIZURE of 4 packets of contraband suspected to be Heroin in AOR of BOP Daoke in Amritsar Sector

Jalandhar, March 4, 2013: Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized 4 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin on Punjab border on Monday at Border Out Post Daoke of Amritsar Sector. 

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border from smuggling point of view, Aditya Mishra, Inspector General BSF has issued operational guidelines to further strengthen border domination so as to effectively check the menace of smuggling on Punjab border with Pakistan. Consequently BSF Field Units are maintaining enhanced vigil on border.

On Monday, the alert BSF Troops of Border Out Post Daoke observed and heard some noise at about 0115 hrs near Border security fence in alignment of BP (No. 112/12-13). Immediately BSF sentry rushed to the spot and challenged the suspicious person but the smugglers managed to escape from the site.

During search, total two cloth bundles, one bundle hanging on Border Security fence and one bundle lying on the fence track (own side) in the alignment of BP (No. 112/12-13) about 200 meters from International Border were found. 

On opening these 2 bundles, 4 packets suspected to be heroin were found inside these bundles, an official release said.
