Shoma Anand is back on television as Dadi Cool

Bollywood and TV actress Shoma Anand is best known for her roles in the movie Coolie and Jagir and also for her role in the television show Hum Paanch which got her name and fame. She has made a grand entry in Sony Sab’s Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan. She is playing the role of Dadi of Yaro alongside other popular actors like Aniruddh Dave, Rakesh Bedi, Malini Kapoor.

1) How did you get this role as Dadi in Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan which is a science fiction and comedy?
I was in Kashmir when they called me for this role of Dadi in Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan. Dadi who comes home and trains Yaro to be a super hero. This Dadi is like a kid, acts like one and she is very intelligent as well. After hearing the brief, I immediately agreed to enact the role. Post which, I came to Mumbai and had to go through a look test to be selected for the role. Now here I am as a Dadi in Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan.

2) You have made a comeback with a comedy after Hum Paanch and Shararat? This is a type of science fiction comedy is any difference between the roles you played before and now?
For me there is no difference between science comedy or regular comedy, here also Dadi does some crazy things but very smartly and escapes with the repercussions. She will transform Yaro into a superhero. But yes whatever regular comedy I have done till now is little different than this. Here Dadi will do funny things like a kid. She is doing everything in a crazy manner and not in a scientific way.

3) What is the thing which you like the most in this character?
It is a very lovely role you can say. I enjoy doing this role as I am free to do all the crazy things here. There are no restriction or limitation in this role, being an aged woman she does everything. People gets scared of her. In fact now people have started recognizing me as a cool Dadi. I am happy that audience is liking me in comedy roles again. I have always enjoyed comedy.

4) Your looks are cool and light?
I thank god that I don’t have to wear heavy jewellery like we do in daily soaps, here the sarees and jewellery which I wear are so light weight. I just love my get up.

5) How is the cast here? Have you worked with Rakesh Bedi before?
I worked with him long time back in Maal Hain Toh Taal Hain, he is a good friend of mine. Also all the kids here are young and bright we gel up well. Whenever we are together, it’s like a mad house and crazy fun, here there is no age bar everyone enjoys with each other.
