Jalandhar/Ludhiana, August 28, 2013: Festival of Shree Krishan Janamashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm in all parts of Punjab.
Elaborate security arrangements were made in the surroundings of temples, to maintain complete law and order.
Devotees thronged the temples during day time and late evening also. They worshiped the idols of Lord Krishna. Special singing programmes (bhajan) were held in the temples as a mark of the festivity. Temples were seen beautifully decorated with decorative lights.
In Jalandhar, the celebrations were held in temples including MahaLaxmi Mandir, Shree Sat Narayan Mandir, Geeta Mandir (Central Town), Geeta Mandir (Model Town), Shree Krishna Durga Mandir and Krishan Nagar. BJP national executive member Manoranjan Kalia, MLA, visited various temples to pay his obeisance to Lord Krishna.
