Chandigarh, January 19, 2016: A team of 30 Students from various states of north –east visited yesterday late night at Punjab Raj Bhavan under the Students Experience in interstate Living Programme .
Sharing their experiences with the Governor of Punjab, Haryana and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, the students said that experience they have gained during the exchange programme would stay with them forever. They said that they had learnt about different religions and cultures, which they could not have done as easily in their respective states.
While interacting with students, Prof. Solanki said that this initiative of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad
Would not only provide you opportunity to visit the various places of our country but will also inculcate a sense of national pride by witnessing vast cultural and religious diversity of India.  He asked them to adopt broadmindedness and positive attitude in their lives. He said you are citizen of India and you are allowed to go in any part of the country for education, employment and can live anywhere.
The Governor said that an exchange experience was one of the most powerful ways to promote human beings and help in understanding other cultures. He said that we all are equal even if we belong to different religions.
A grand dinner was also hosted to students of North East states at Punjab Raj Bhavan by the Governor.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. Arun Sood, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh Mr.Ajit Bajaji joshi , Mr.  Shriniwas (National Joint Organizing Secretary), Mr. Surinder Awasthi, State Information Commissioner, Mr. Baljinder Thakur, Mrs Saroj Bhardwaj, Dr. Krishan Gopal, Mr. Vikas Singla, Mr. Dinesh Chauhan, Mr. Harmonjot Singh Gill, Mr Seurbh Kapoor and Mr. Vikas Sharma.
