Sonalika Group Vice Chairman says Punjab Deputy CM’s new industrial policy more inspiring

Hoshiarpur, August 19, 2013: Sonalika International Tractors plans to enhance the capacity of tractor units at its Hoshiarpur plant by investing Rs.500 crores. In addition Rs.200 crores will also be invested in its equipment division to expand its production.

Thanks to the conducive socio environment for the production in Punjab says AS Mittal, Vice Chairman, Sonalika Group. “By December next year will double the capacity at Hoshiarpur (Punjab) from present 75000 to 1.5 lac units”, Mittal said in a press release here today. 

After the completion of expansion sonalika shell become india’s largest integrated tractor plant under one roof.

It’s becoming possible only due to Punjab’s most peaceful and the best industry pro atmosphere in the whole country he said.

Mittal further stated that then and now state Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had himself laid down the foundation stone of Sonalika Tractors decade ago. The encouraging attitude and continuous support of Badal to this industry, keep us going. Sonalika Tractors has emerged as a key player in the Tractor market and has entered the first four top players after crossing John Deere last year.

Mittal said that Sonalika Tractors are also being exported to 65 countries around the world that includes most developed European countries, Like Germany. The direct employment after the expansion by next December, shall be more than 5000 workers and engineers and About 10000 through Ancillaries and components suppliers of the state thus adding employment opportunities in the state.

The group employs presently more than 3000 direct workers and engineers and another 5000 through its Ancillary and component suppliers.

Mittal further stated that the chief minister is passionate about farm mechanization techniques. In his heart and heart CM Parkash Singh Badal is still a farmer. He is always keen that farmers of Punjab should be able to adopt best technologies available around The world  and he  always encourages to develop special and useful equipments.  

He further said that growth oriented new industrial policy of Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has been a great inspiration not only for Sonalika Tractors but also for other industrial units in Punjab state. It is necessary to mention here that the deputy chief minister took special initiative to introduce Punjab made sonalika tractors to the state of Pakistan during his visit and offered Pakistani industrialists tractor technology from Punjab .
