Actress Aditi Sajwan who plays Koyal in Sony SAB’s Chidiyaghar says, “In Bhatinda lohri is celebrated in a huge way every year. My Family stayed in Bhatinda for 3 years. We had Live DJ’s throughout the night in our locality, there were typical dance performances organized on Lohri songs. I remember in the night, we would usually gather around a bon fire and would eat all festive delicacies which consisted of ‘Tilgul Laddus’, ‘Gajjak’ and peanuts etc. We would share stories, talk, sing and dance throughout the night. It was really full of fun. I have a really sweet tooth, so definitely sweets like ‘Laddus’, ‘Rewdi’ and ‘Gajjak’ excite me! And definitely, I loved watching the kite laden sky on the day of Sankranti. There was a different kind of excitement in the air on that particular day and the whole neighborhood used to be on the terrace flying kites. I tried flying kites but did not succeed. I will be celebrating both festivals on the set first. We have a big track on kite flying this week in Chidiyaghar. After the shoot definitely the celebration will happen at home with food and friends for sure.
Actress Navneet Nishan who plays Tulsi Chopra in Sony SAB’s Dil Deke Dekho says, “I love Lohri! We celebrated at the birth of my nephew Aangad, it was like a new and happy chapter of my life. It was a very chilly evening in Gurgaon but I was super thrilled to celebrate it with my family. Here in Mumbai I usually don’t celebrate Lohri. I did kite flying many years ago on a roof top in downtown Mumbai and I enjoyed it a lot.
Actress Priyal Gor who plays Ichha in Sony SAB’S Ichhapyaari Naagin says, “I fondly remember my childhood memory where we used to go to my Nani’s place to fly kites. Now after growing up I obviously enjoy gorging on sweets. I do not have any plans for Sankranti as such, because we would be working, but I really wish that there should have been a track of Sankranti in my show Ichhapyaari Naagin. We are of course planning on exchanging sweets on the sets on the day of Sankranti.
Actress Aishwarya Sakhuja who plays Dhanu in Sony SAB’s Trideviyaan says, “I used to spend my Lohri at my grandmothers house. Since we are Punjabi’s, the entire community use to get together and there use to be a huge celebration in front of my home. I personally don’t like flying a kite because the string of the kites damage birds, it’s a beautiful festival of color and spirit. As a child I enjoyed flying kite but yes I have an elder brother who use to bully me and always made me hold the ‘Manja’. This year again I will be celebrating Lohri with my family, we always celebrate this festival in a very big way. Once I am done with my work, I will celebrate Lohri in a grand way with my family.
Actor Mishkat Verma who plays Babble in Sony SAB’s Ichhapyaari Naagin says, “Kite flying is one of my favorite activity during Sankranti. I still love to gorge on the sweets prepared specially for Sankranti. But this year since I am working on the same day, we would just be celebrating it by distributing sweets on the sets.
