Chandigarh, March 28, 2014: Missing the Tapas you had at various Tapas Bars on the streets of Barcelona or Paella on the beaches of Valencia? Or heard people talking about such places that you have not visited? Now savour the same at Gusto (SCO 180, Inner Market, Sec 7 C, Chandigarh) a lively cafe & restaurant which provides mainly authentic Spanish cuisine. One of the quotes on the wall reads:
“No matter how carefully you plan your goals they will never be more than pipe dreams unless you pursue them with gusto….” W. Clement Stone
Such gusto to pursue their dreams and passion brought Pavit, Preet Inder and Manav to set sails for Gusto.  Pavit an entrepreneur from an old business family, Preet Inder an agriculturist turned hospitality entrepreneur and Manav a trained chef - What was the commonality to get these three youngsters together? No prizes for guessing and food for thought – Food!! And what better choice than to name their passionate outlet Gusto!!
Having worked under renowned chefs like Chef Abhijit Saha – the founding member of up market Kapperbari in Bangalore, Chef Jolly -  One of the Judges on Master Chef Junior, India; Chef Manav Suri of Gusto portrays an experimental menu including Tapas, Mezzes, Paellas et al. The signature vegetarian delights among others are Spanakopitas, Smoked Tomato Cornet, Artichoke and goat cheese tarlets, Mezze Platter. For Non-vegetarian’s - Lamb Kopitas, Hummus be Laham  and the Charmoula Rubbed Fish Kebabs are attractions. A host of mouth watering Paella dishes are there. The Chef has experimented and come up with unique signature dishes – A Pizza - Interpretation of Baba Ghanoush, Interpretation of Butter Chicken, Zucchini Tart, Red Wine Braised Lamb Shanks (I am told they are cooked for 48 Hours) and Crumbed (Not Fried) River sole are a must haves. Not just Spanish, the Cafe & restaurant prides itself in rolling out authentic Moroccan-Greek food as well and its Italian menu is no 'small' surprise. It won't be wrong to say that the specialty cafe cum restaurant offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine.
“We believe in using absolutely fresh products. Nothing is canned or preserved. Like our place, our food also portrays an element of Freshness”, says the core team at Gusto.
Gusto specializes in pleasing your palate and eyes simultaneously creating a perfect blend of artistry with taste. One of the happy diners at Gusto States, “The presentation of the dishes is pleasing to the eyes and mouth watering, as if the chef looked at the plate as blank canvas to creates delicious piece of edible art.”
Interiors of Gusto which have been done by Chandni Pahwa & Kiranjit Sandhu provide a happy, cheerful, light & vibrant ambiance to the 40 seater Café & Restaurant. It has been given a European Café Look. Hand painted drawings using trendy colors – mainly neons adorn the walls. Funky quotes and funny anecdotes related to food etc. are etched along a 40 feet long wall. English & European style lamps are an attraction. The place is a blend of Rustic and Modernity.
