Starcast of Punjabi film ‘Patiala Dreamz’ reaches Ludhiana for promotion

Ludhiana, January 4, 2014: 24-year old Abhishek Saxena could be called the youngest film director in Punjabi cinema. His directorial debut ‘Patiala Dreamz’ is releasing on 10th January and he’s out on a promotional tour with the team. On Saturday, it was the turn of Ludhiana where a press conference took place at Nizam E Khas, Pakhowal Road. Abhishek told that he is the youngest of the whole unit and he had to direct everybody. But everyone was so professional that Abhishek did not have to push much.
Along with him, actors Sarwar Ahuja, Madalsa Sharma, Sardar Sohi, Amrit Pal Singh, Maninder Velly and producer Parminder Kapoor took part in this event. Lead actors of the film Sarwar and Madalsa later matched steps in a flash mob which took place to promote the film, being first of its kind in Pollywood. Releasing on 10th January, the film has been produced under the banner of Kapoor Films And Showbiz and the distribution rights of the film lie with Gunbir Singh Sidhu, MD, Surya Basic Brothers. It has already been announced that some part of the profit from this film will be donated to ‘Roko Cancer’ campaign to buy cancer machines.
Along with Parminder Kapoor, the film has been produced by Anmol Kapoor, Navneet Kapoor and Raman Kapoor. Ankit Raj Kakkar, Namya Saxena, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and B.N. Sharma will also be seen in the movie. The film revolves around a youngster Garry (Sarvar) who is studying and having fun with friends in Canada. A girl from Patiala, Reet (Madalsa), enters his life during the college days. Garry has some old connection with Patiala which has been kept away from him. But he usually sees some old buildings and people in his dreams which are there back in Patiala. To get the answers to these weird dreams, he goes to Patiala through Reet. This is the point where the story takes a big turn and Garry gets to know about Teja Singh (Sardar Sohi).
The film has all flavours of comedy, drama and suspense. On this occasion Abhishek said that he is fortunate that he was considered capable of directing this film. Sarwar Ahuja told the media, “Though I was working since a long time in Mumbai, my mind and my eyes were totally on Punjab. I was looking for a reason to get into Pollywood. I didn’t even take a second to accept this film after listening to the script. This film is definitely going to give a new identity to my work.” Debuting in Punjabi cinema with this film, Madalsa told the media that shooting for the film was a full-time fun. She felt like she’s on a picnic with her family.
A few days back, the music of the film was released on Shemaroo Music which is getting a great response from the audience. Music directors of the film are Jazz Punjabi and Vicky Aggarwal. The album has a total of eight songs and the songs have been shot in Malaysia, Goa, Chandigarh and parts of Punjab. The choreography has been done by Shabeena Khan who has earlier worked in various Bollywood projects and has directed superstars like Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan.
