SUKHBIR'S PAK VISIT: Border Area people pins great hopes

Ferozepeur, November 10, 2012: The people, especially border area towns, have started anticipating the positive results of visit of Sukhbir Singh Badal, deputy chief minister, Punjab to Pakistan.  

The idea behind the visit to Pakistan was for expanding cooperation between the two Punjabs to come close to tie-up for trade and economic ties which was interrupted by the Kargil conflict and the Mumbai attacks of 2008 which was great threat to India's security.  On regular and short interval visits can help in opening of trade in the border towns besides exchange of other items of need to each other. Naturally, if everything goes right in the coming days, the people of the border towns will definitely enjoy the lights of the day.
No doubt, the state leaders sometime unable to see the national and global interests but such initiatives are definitely help in to broaden and deepen diplomatic engagements.
