Nominated for ‘Innovator of The Year’
SYDNEY, April 19, 2017 – Thomson Reuters today announced it has been shortlisted for ‘Innovator of the Year’ for the 2017 Australian Accounting Awards.

Hosted by Accountants Daily, the Australian Accounting Awards showcases excellence across the breadth of the professional accounting space, designed to celebrate the country’s industry leaders.

The Innovator of the Year award nomination recognises the development of Tax Audit Alert, an innovative technology of Thomson Reuters Software Assistant that raises Australian Tax Office (ATO) audit alerts specific to an individual client in real-time.

Launched in 2016 Tax Audit Alert technology has transformed the way tax practitioners approach their client’s tax returns. This market first technology available exclusively from Thomson Reuters gives tax practitioners the confidence to know their client is claiming reasonable deductions and provides ATO data as proof to clients that their claims may provoke an ATO audit.

Ben Scull, Managing Director, Tax & Accounting, Australia & New Zealand at Thomson Reuters said:

“As a leading provider of technology and integrated information technology solutions to the tax and accounting industry, we’re proud to be nominated for this year’s Australian Accounting Awards. A rapidly changing landscape is placing unprecedented demands on practitioners to improve efficiency and performance. Tax Audit Alert is a good example of how Thomson Reuters is using innovation to create market first solutions that solve the latest and most important issues for tax practitioners in Australia.”
