Three-Month Training Course On Crop Production Begins At PAU

Ludhiana, August 3, 2015: A three- month training course on “Crop Production” began at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. Rural youths from different parts of Punjab are participating in the course, organized under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education, Dr R.S.Sidhu.

In his inaugural remarks, the Chief Guest, Dr P.S. Aulakh, Additional Director of Extension Education, said, “PAU is a storehouse of agricultural knowledge.” He encouraged the participants to start their own venture after obtaining training in agriculture and subsidiary occupations.

The Course Coordinator, Dr T.S. Riar said, “PAU holds three-month training course twice a year.” During this course, experts will dwell on crop production, cultivation of horticultural crops, dairy farming, beekeeping, mushroom growing, and vegetable cultivation alongwith their insect-pest and disease management, he said.
