New Delhi/Jalandhar, July 22, 2013 : The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Ranchi (Jharkhand) has convicted  Suresh Prasad, the then Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Manika Branch,  in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.3,000. A private person Rasool Milan was also sentenced to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment in this case.

CBI had registered a case on October 12, 2004 U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 against the accused on the allegations that he had demanded Rs.1,500 from the complainant as illegal gratification for sanctioning a loan of Rs. 25,000 under Swarn Jayanti Gram Swa Rojgar Yojona in his favour.

After investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet on 29.01.2005 U/s 120-B and 7 and Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988.

 The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
