Three years rigorous imprisonment to two accused in passport case

New Delhi/Jalandhar, December 13, 2013: The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, CBI, Mirzapur, Ahmedabad has convicted  Devang Bhanubhai Patel and  Ashok Kumar Chimanbhai Patel, both private persons in a passport case and sentenced them to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.40,000 each.
CBI had registered a case on the allegations that private person in collusion with other unknown persons was running a racket in large scale wherein they indulged in preparation of blank, bogus and tampered passport booklets which were subsequently handed over to persons of dubious characters or those who were not issued passport in normal course.
After investigation, a chargesheet was filed.  The Trial Court found both the said accused persons guilty and acquitted a private person.
