TIES will help reduce Exporters' Transaction Cost: FIEO

New Delhi/Ludhiana, March 16, 2017: Mr.S.C.Ralhan, President, Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) has welcomed launch of Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme (TIES) by Commerce and Industry Minister Ms Nirmala Sitharaman. Welcoming the initiative as also announced in the Budget, Mr Ralhan said that the Indian exporters face huge challenges in terms of infrastructure, particularly in states. Trade infrastructure is one of the critical elements in export trade to enhance efficiency and competitiveness in global market.

Mr.Ralhan mentioned that inadequate infrastructure pushes exporters transaction cost, impacting competitiveness of Indian goods in the global market. The logistics cost in India is one of the highest in the world, he added. FIEO Chief stated that the new scheme ‘TIES’, will help create modern infrastructure like last mile connectivity to ports, besides testing labs and certification centers. The Scheme will help in moderninising infrastructure in states for exporters besides addressing various other challenges and export bottlenecks.
