Today's incident in Punjab Vidhan Sabha is murder of democracy: Kalia

Jalandhar, June 22, 2017: Sh.Manoranjan Kalia former Minister and senior BJP Leader Punjab termed today's incident in Punjab Vidhan Sabha as Murder of Democracy.
In a statement here today, he added in the 14th Vidhan Sabha, the then legislators of Congress Party under the then leadership of Sh.Sunil Jakhar many a time stalled the working of Vidhan Sabha by creating raucous and sat on Dharna in the House of Vidhan Sabha consecutively for days together but the Speaker never ordered the marshals to throw them out of the building of Vidhan Sabha and never passed any orders banning the entry of elective representative in the building of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. The then Chief Minister S.Parkash Singh Badal personally went to Vidhan Sabha requesting the Congress legislators to end Dharna. The Speaker is not only the custodian of Punjab Vidhan Sabha ----The Temple of Democracy, but also the protectorate of the rights of opposition, Kalia added.
