TRAINING CAMP FOR PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY AND SALE/PROMOTION OF RABI SEEDS ORGANISED

Ludhiana, November 9, 2017: Farm Advisory Service Centre in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kapurthala organised Farmers training camp for transfer of technology for production, residue management of paddy and sale/promotion of rabi seeds at PAU adopted village Boolpur on dated 3-11-17. Dr Pardeep Kumar, DES(SM) shared the above mentioned aspects with farmers and strongly motivated them to follow the PAU technologies for residue management of Paddy straw, wheat sowing with Happy Seeder and adoption of improved varieties of rabi seeds. He also advocated the use of bio-fertilizer in wheat to enhance the phosphorus supply to wheat crop. The salient features of newly released varieties such as Unnat PBW 550, Unnat PBW 343 and PBW Zn1 and other recommended varieties were discussed in detail with the farmers. Madam Amandeep Kaur, AP (Veg.Sci) KVK elaborated upon vegetable seed production of onion and fruit plants. Madam Avneet Kaur AP(Home Sci.) discussed the different training programmes for farm women. An impressive exhibition of PAU publications was organised by Madam Jasjit Kaur. The farmers for demonstration of Canola Sarson (Var. GSC-7) and Gram (Var GPF-2) and nutrition gardens were also selected on this occasion keeping in view the nutritional security for farmers. The farmers evinced a keen interest in the PAU technologies. A large number of farmers participated enthusiastically in this function.
