Tributes being paid to great sons of India, freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their life for the freedom of India at historical gurudwara Saragarhi at Ferozepur on Wednesday.

Ferozepur, January 30, 2013:  Rich tributes were paid to great sons of India, freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their life for the freedom of India at historical gurudwara Saragarhi under the patronage of Manjit Singh Narang, deputy commissioner, Ferozepur, Varinder Pal Singh, SSP, Gurmial Singh, ADC(G), Gurjit Singh Pannu, SDM, Amit Bamby, AC(G), Lakbir Singh, SP(H), Gurcharan Singh Sandhu, DTO and civil and police officers of district administration, employees by offering flowers before the photo of Mahatama Gandhi.

On this occasion, the troop of Punjab Police paid homage to the martyrs by reversing their arms and two minutes silence was observed at exact 11 AM.

Deputy Commissioner said, there is a need to follow the path of truth and non-violence shown by Mahatama Gandhi, Father of the Nation. He further said, the best homage will be if we are ever ready to any sacrifice to maintain the independence given to us by sacrificing their life. The youths of today should give their maximum contribution for the development of nation to fulfill the dreams of great martyrs by using their full force and giving practical shape to constructive thoughts.
