College of Physical Education lifted overall trophy in GKU Athletics meet
Talwandi Sabo, February 28, 2014: Two day 3rd Annual Athletics meet concluded today with memories behind. On the 2nd and last day of the Meet Gurlabh Singh Sidhu was the chief guest. Chief Guest along with university officials distributed the prizes to the winners. Chief Guest in his address stated that games and sports give us good health and with that good health, sound body and mind students can more concentrate on their studies.
Chairman Gurlabh Singh Sidhu lauded the efforts of Dr. Tirlok Singh Sandhu (Olympian & Director Sports of GKU) and his staff for organizing such  gala event in the campus.
Vice Chancellor Dr. N.S Malhi stated that games and sports develop discipline and co-operation among the students which develop good as well as required traits in their personality which are highly needed for overall personality development of the students.
Dr. Ravinder Sumal (HoD phy.edu.) told that in this meet various track and field events were organized in which students from all the constituent colleges of GKU participated. On the basis of overall performance Sumit Boora & Parjeet kaur declared best athletes. By snatching maximum  medals, University college of Physical Education  lifted overall trophy with 166 points.
