Chandigarh, September 27, 2014: This festive the tri-city has more than one reason to rejoice. Renowned fashion designers have come under the same roof in a two-day fashion lifestyle exhibition Razzmatazz with their collections having ethnic wear, bridal wear, designer footwear, cocktail dresses, diamond jewelery, fashion accessories, luxury wedding cards and much more. Being held at Hotel Mountview it’s a shopper’s paradise for this wedding season.
The Lakme Fashion Week designers Masaba Gupta, Archana Kochhar, Aparajita Toor and Khem have brought in their collections. Partnering them are South Indian and Bengali Cinema designers Pranay Baidya and wedding card expert Anandham. Former chief minister of Punjab Mrs Rajinder Kaur Bhattal inaugurated this exhibition.
The fifty stalls put up here include games for the children and delicacies to eat. To make the shopping a memorable experience a photo booth has also been set up by Deepikadeepclicks. The organizers Prabhdeep Kaur and Anu Thakur said, “Though Chandigarh played host to many exhibitions, there emphasis was on heralding in a completely different concept. The results is a never before seen collection of fashion”.
Pranay Baidya, who has worked in marketing himself at New Zealand, himself visited the exhibition.”I keep my labels away from fashion week as I reach the customers myself. This is first time I have brought in my collection to Chandigarh and it has not been altered in any way and this is the strength of my brand,” says Pranay whose collection includes contemporary sarees, heritage weaves, cocktail lehenga and pre-bridal lehenga.
Designers Khushboo and Prem’s collaboration - the Khem - has the best of cocktail dresses. They were excited to visit Chandigarh with their collection as the city is fashion hub of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Designer Aparajita Toor said that her collection was inspired Punjab’s colors and tradition and has been woven with Maharashtra’s Kohlapur designs. Masaba Gupta too was happy to bring her designs to Chandigarh. “I consider Chandigarh a fashion test for women and designers and I look forward to coming here again,” she said.
