Two Teenage Boys Of Rampur Fasse Drowned In The Village Pond

Khanna, April 18, 2015: A pall of gloom descends in village Rampur Fasse, near Shri Machhiwara Sahib when two teenage boys of the village drowned in the village pond when their motorcycle fell in the pond. The deceased were identified as Varinderpal(14) Singh a student of 8th class and Harshdeep Singh(16) a student of 10th class of Behrampur Bet. 

Due to this incident the main bazaar of Behrampur Bet remained closed as a mark of respect to the departed souls. 

As per information both the deceased were neighbours and were friends. Last evening both the boys boarded a motorcycle and started going towards Rampur Fasse from Behrampur. When they reached near the village pond suddenly they lost control over their motorcycle and they fell in the village pond along with motorcycle. After the villagers failed to evacuate both the boys till 10 pm then a diver Banarsi was pressed into service and he extracted the bodies of both the boys from the village pond with great hardship. Harshdeep Singh was the only son of his parents while Varinderpal had a brother and a sister. The bodies of both the boys were handed over to their guardians after post mortem and they were lit to flames in the village amidst a big gathering of the villagers.
