Two youth killed over minute issue in Guruharsahai

Ferozepur, July 17, 2017: Two youths belonging to this border area were killed and two other were critically injured following clash between two families over minute issue. The incident took place at Village Palle Chakk in Guruharsahai subdivision.
As per information available, the two families had strained relationships with each other for a long time. Yesterday evening, Beant Singh (21) had gone to a mela at Village Golu Ka Mour along with his family members where one Nachhatar Singh allegedly had heated arguments with him which turned violent and he beaten up the family members of Beant.
Today also, Nachhattar along with few others started arguments with the family of Beant during which he allegedly opened fire at Beant with his .12 bore gun. While Beant died on the spot his cousin Lakhwinder also sustained a bullet shot and also died on the spot and two other persons were injured.

Meanwhile, the police have booked the main accused Nachhattar Singh along with Nishan Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Gurmit Singh , Harjinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, Gurdip Singh and 5-6 unidentified persons under sections 302, 307, 148, 149 of the IPC and 25/27/29/54/59 of the Arms Act at Guruharsahai police station.
Gaurav Garg SSP said that the incident took place due to family dispute while ruling out any political or other angle to it. He said that the case has been registered against eleven persons and culprits shall be arrested soon.
