UCPMA delegation meets CPS Sarup Chand Singla

Ludhiana, August 5, 2013: A delegation of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana met Sarup Chand Singla Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Excise & Taxation), Punjab here today.

The delegation was led by the association’s president Gurmeet Singh Kular.

The delegates apprised CPS of the difficulties being faced by the industry. They highlighted the problems such as verification of four stages of purchase for VAT refunds, transfer of ICC’s case files of the local authority of dealers and new reward policy of Excise and Taxation Department.

It was demansded that the state government should start providing C-form online, as has already been started in a few other states. It was urged to roll back the policy of levy of collection charges on the beneficiaries. The delegates also opposed levying of entry tax on generator sets by the Department of Excise and Taxation, Punjab. They also sought that the department should allow the industry the VAT on Diesel so that the industry could get the relief from VAT. They said the government should introduced D-form for the purchase of raw material.
