Union Urban Development Ministry releases Rs 30 crore grant for sewerage treatment in Ludhiana: Tewari

Ludhiana, October 30: The Union Urban Development Ministry has released Rs 30.17 crores of the Additional Central Assistance for providing sewerage and sewage treatment plant in Ludhiana under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM)

This was disclosed by the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister and local MP Manish Tewari here today. He said, he had received a communication today from the Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr Kamal Nath tell him that Rs 30.17 crores had been released for “providing sewerage and sewage treatment plant” in Ludhiana.    

The letter informing Tewari said, “I am happy to inform you that I have approved release of further installment of Additional Central Assistance (ACA) in respect of the sewerage and sewage treatment plant, in Ludhiana under the JNNURM”.

Nath told Tewari that the Department of Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance was being advised to released the funds to the State of Punjab.

Expressing his gratitude to the Urban Development Minister for releasing the additional grant of Rs 30 crore, Tewari hoped that the Punjab government will spend the money properly and timely so that the purpose for which the money has been provided is solved. He said, he will also ensure that the project is thoroughly monitored. www.cityairnews.com
