Women of Malwa College lifts overall trophy of Tarang at CT University

Ludhiana, November 18, 2017: In the second and last day of Tarang 2017, an inter-college competition was organized in which 24 colleges from the region participated in 16 different events at CT University. The overall trophy was bagged by Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Ludhiana and second was won by Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana.

This two-day fest was organised for the students to showcase their skills. Students took part in numerous events like ad-mad show, rangoli making, group dance, short film making, mehandi, solo singing, face painting, budding chef and treasure hunt etc.

The event saw huge participation from different colleges including Bhutta College, GNE Polytechnic, Punjab Agricultural University, LRDAV College Jagraon, GTB IMT Dhaka, SCD Government College, SLN College Amritsar, DAV College Jagraon and Ferozepur, Government College of Science Education and Research etc.

Students from different colleges bagged various other prizes as well. The first prize for group dance was bagged by Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic, Ludhiana and second was won by DAV College for Women, Ferozepur. The first position for rangoli making was bagged by Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana and second by DM College, Moga. GHG Khalsa College bagged first prize in mehandi competition and second was won by Malwa College for Women. The first prize for LAN Gaming was won by Bhutta College and second was bagged by DAV College Jagraon. For collage making, the first prize was won by Malwa College for Women and second also by the same institute. The first prize for face painting went to DAV College Ferozepur and second by DM College Moga. For flower arrangement, the first prize bagged by Malwa College for Women and second by Guru Nanak College, Ludhiana. For budding chef, the first prize was won by Malwa College for Women, and second by Guru Nanak Khalsa College.

The day saw mesmerizing dance performances of various styles like classical, Indian and western etc along with solo singing. The students made beautiful mehandi in one of the competitions along with face painting and documentary making.

Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, CT University said, “We have organised this festival for the very first time in our university campus. The response has been great where so many colleges participated and came along with their teachers today. This two day fest was a great learning for the students of young age. Through these events, students learned the art of being self-reliant and developed a kind of competitive spirit of winning which in turn will help them in facing the biggest challenges in their professional and personal life.”

S. Charanjit S Channi, Chancellor, CT University appreciated and congratulated the efforts of the students and the faculty for organizing all the events smoothly. He further added that this two day fest must have helped the students to get hand full of experience and loads of confidence on being on stage and mentioned that the vision behind this fest was to make young boys and girls wear confidence as their armor.
