Ludhiana, January 28, 2014: The Yamaha Children Safety Programme (YCSP), a first of its kind social initiative by Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. (YMIS) conducted its first session here on Tuesday. The children safety programme was held at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar in Ludhiana, where over 200 enthusiastic students between the age group of 5 to 12 yrs attended the programme. Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. also introduced its maiden brand mascot, unveiled recently in the capital, to promote its first Yamaha Children Safety Programme in Ludhiana.

The programme included making the students aware on the rules to be safe on roads, along with a few safety measures and tips for road safety through theory and practical examples. The Mascot was also introduced to arouse the interest among the kids and connect with them better. The kids were excited and participated in these interactive sessions. The session concluded with lots of fun activities like the mascot interacting and dancing with the kids while educating them about vital road safety measures.

Yamaha had launched the Yamaha Child Safety Program (YCSP) under its ‘Safety First’ campaign in India. Yamaha designed this program especially for kids under the age of 5-12 years. Yamaha through this initiative strives to aware the children on road safety and safety education, subsequently making the complete family safe. Children act as a catalyst to bring in change in the family and cumulatively changing the society for the better on the whole.

Speaking on the occasion, Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt.Ltd. said, “Yamaha has been promoting road safety/ safe riding habits since almost five years now. But the Yamaha Children Safety Program (YCSP) is a first of its kind social initiative by the company to educate and influence both parents and children about vital road safety measures. We believe that it is imperative that the knowledge and importance of road safety is instilled in the youth of the nation as they are the key drivers in bringing about any change. We have started the YCSP to involve the youngsters in an entertaining and interactive manner that would drive home the key messages of safe riding. By doing so, we are not just creating awareness amongst children but also amongst the family and local communities as well. Also, when these youngsters turn 18 and are ready to buy a two-wheeler, they will remember what tips Yamaha offered them on safety while in school.”

The company plans to finalise the name of the mascot through a naming contest. The contest had started on 10th January and the name will be announced on 5th February.

After having successfully launched the Yamaha Children Safety Programme (YCSP) in Ludhiana, Punjab, the company now plans to take the program forward to cover almost 600 schools across India by 2014.Yamaha hopes to have a wider reach in such towns and cities where the two-wheeler market is considerably large and the need for spreading awareness about the basic of road safety is much needed. The company is hopeful that the ongoing initiative is meant to ensure that riding is associated with fun and not fatalities.//ludhiana news online, ludhiana news in English, ludhiana news, ludhiana current news, ludhiana news live, Ludhiana breaking news, Ludhiana headlines, Ludhiana latest news, punjab news, india news, punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news,
