‘Jallianwala Bagh’ screened to commemorate centenary of Jallianwala Bagh massacre

Chandigarh, March 22, 2019: The movie club of Department of Hindi, Panjab University, today screened the movie, ‘Jallianwala Bagh’ to commemorate the centenary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Dr.Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, Department of Hindi informed, “Our Department is holding month long activities to mark the centenary year of the massacre. Last week we organized a lecture on the historical aspects of the event, today we have a movie screening and more activities are in line till the month of April.” The movie starring Vinod Khanna, Shabana Azmi, Deepti Naval and Parikshat Sahni recounts the dark event in the Indian history and shows the aftermath of the massacre. After the movie screening, an interactive session was held to discuss the various aspects of the movie. Dinesh, coordinated the discussion and other participants included Happy, Pravin Malik, Nisha, Suamvada, Shakuntala, Madhu, Deepshikha, Pinkey, Sumit, Ram Singh Yadav, Nirmala and Ravinder Kaur.
