‘Pediatric Cardiac Anaesthesia Update’
Ludhiana, September 30, 2018: North Zone Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists & Hero DMC Heart Institute jointly organized ‘Pediatric Cardiac Anaesthesia Update’ today at Dumra Auditorium, DMC&H, Ludhiana. The conference was organized with a purpose of sharing the current practice and developments in the field of pediatric cardiac care. The conference was formally inaugurated by Secretary, DMC&H Sh. Prem Kumar Gupta as chief guest and Dr. Prabhat Tiwari, SGPGI, Lucknow, as guest of honor. Also present on the occasion were Principal DrSandeepPuri, Vice Principal Dr GS Wander, Medical Supdts, Dr. Sarju Ralhan, Dr. Rajiv Gupta and doctors from cardiac anaesthesia, HDHI. Experts from premier institutes likePGI, Chandigarh and AIIMS, Medanta the Medicity and Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi discussed their experiences and current practices in pediatric cardiac anaesthesia. Secretary Sh. Prem Kumar Gupta lauded the organizing team and Department of cardiac anaesthesia for conducting this CME. In his address, Sh. Gupta said that in past few years, Hero Heart has successfully operated more than 1200 children suffering from heart diseases. He expressed his feelings saying that “Smile on the face of baby and satisfied parents is the biggest achievement for us”. Dr. Wander told that the pediatric cardiac surgery is the need of hour;specially in this region; and conducting such academic meetings will help updating the knowledge of all participants. Dr Rajesh Arya, as national secretary of Cardiac Anaesthesia Society, stressed that pediatric cardiac anesthesia is one of the most challenging sub-discipline within cardiac anesthesia. Dr. Sarju Ralhan and Dr. Rajiv Gupta shared the challenges they faced in beginning and how they have reached to this stage to manage small babies with heart disease. Dr. SandeepPuri applauded the efforts of cardiac anaesthesia department for consistently organizing academic activities and keeping the institute at par with any best in the county. Dr.Dinesh Garg, organizing secretary thanked the management for constant encouragement and support for better and better patient care. He thanked all the guest faculty and delegates (more than 200) who have travelled across the north India to attend this CME.
