‘STUPID 7’ bridges generation gap this Feb

Ludhiana, January 30, 2013: Punjabi cinema has come a long way from being just a minimalist regional cinema to carving a niche for itself with movies, which, unlike before, are technically very strong and realistic.

Keeping with the trend is yet another Punjabi flick titled ‘Stupid 7’. Based on a Punjabi musical play ‘Me & My Story, the movie, to be released on first of February under the banner Offstage Creations, stars Milind Gaba, Pukhraj Bhalla, Jasmeet Kaur, Karanjit Singh, Saibi Sodhi, Gunit Cour, Sukhman Brar, Janatpreet along with Guggu Gill, Jaswinder Bhalla, Razia Sukhbir, Parmod Pabbi, Ramnik Sandhu, Rajni Gujral, Arjuna Bhalla, Harmeet Sanghi, Gaurav Vij. The star cast alongwith producers Sandeep Kakkar, Dr JR Kakkar; co-producers Lalli Dhillon, Dr Surjit Singh, Rekha Kakkar and director Pali Bhupinder Singh, addressed a press conference here on Wednesday.

Speaking about the movie,Pali, who has also written the screenplay, said, “The movie is a youth-based family drama blended with comical moments. The story revolves around generation gap among parents and children in terms of attitude and approach towards life and issues related to it.”

Sharing his mind, Pali said, “This is a different kind of a story, which the audience will relate to. Reason being, as teenagers, we feel that our elders are ‘stupid’ and vice versa. The real drama starts when both generations try to deal with life and its problems in their respective ways. There’s always a difference of opinions and this is what the story is all about. Basically, Stupid 7 is a complete family entertainer.”

The music has been given by Jeetu that has only added to the character of the movie.

The lyrics have been penned by Pali Bhupinder Singh and Aksh Mehraj. While Kamal Khan, Ashok Masti, Milind Gaba have lent vocals, Harshdeep Kaur has added another feather to this music bandwagon.

Elaborating further, Sandeep Kakkar  and Dr JR Kakkar said, “The movie, with locations being in and around Moga, has a very interesting concept right from the story to cinematography by Dhirendra Shukla to songs – everything is sure to catch the attention of the audience. And adding to this is the wonderful star cast.”
