“My father taught me about commitment towards work”, says Akshay Kelkar of Sony SAB’s Bhakharwadi
Sony SAB’s family entertainer Bhakharwadi has been successful in portraying some adorable family bonds and has made the audience fall in love with each character. While Abhishek (Akshay Kelkar) is the most obedient and an ideal son, on screen, to Anna (Deven Bhojani), he shares a rather special bond with his father in real life too. Akshay Kelkar, a noticeable face in Marathi cinema and currently working in Sony SAB’s show Bhakharwadi, proudly talks about his father’s achievements and how his father has been a huge inspiration for him to take his work seriously. His eyes fill with nostalgia while he shares an unforgettable experience and says, “My father is an auto rickshaw driver and when I was young, he would give me a share of his first earning of the day while dropping me to school and my mom never came to know about this. Although I now earn for myself, those little pennies were extremely special and priceless to me.” While of course the presence of a father proves to be really essential in the growth of a child, their importance as a guiding force can never be undermined in a child’s life. Sharing about the importance of his father in his life, Akshay said, “I’ve learnt some great things from my father. The biggest learning I would also like to pass on to the viewers is about the commitment that my father has for his work. Although I earn enough and asked him to quit working as a rickshaw driver, he refused to do that just because of the respect and dedication he has for his work. This has taught me to work with the same passion and commitment.”
