Dharamsala, December 11, 2023: Speaking on the one-year celebration of the Congress government on December 11, 2023, in Dharamsala, BJP's state-level spokesperson, Sanjay Sharma, criticized the absence of Congress Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge at the event, considering it a significant setback for the HP government.

Sharma pointed out that while Priyanka Gandhi had already arrived in Shimla for the program, she did not attend the Dharamshala event. The speculated reason is the disagreement with the guarantees provided by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, which the party high command reportedly did not endorse.

Sharma accused the Chief Minister  for celebrating the government's achievements in Dharamshala (the Kangra headquarters), against the political discrimination of  Kangra throughout the year and described it  as a mockery of the people in the district.

He further alleged the misuse of government machinery by forcing school children and government employees to participate in road shows and venues of the program. According to Sharma, the government deployed 1000 government buses for the rally and closing 1000 routes created inconvenience for daily commuters. Private bus owners were allegedly compelled to provide free buses for the event.

Sharma concluded by stating that the first year of the Congress government would be remembered for "365 lies," claiming that the government has deceived the public with a lie every day. He emphasized that not a single one of the 10 guarantees made by the government had been fulfilled. According to Sharma, celebrating failures and spending public money while the state is still recovering from the impact of the rain disaster is unprecedented and criticized the government for doing so.
