10 Day Punjabi Folk Dance Camp begins at Lyallpur Khalsa College

A 10-day Punjabi folk dance Bhangra training camp for the preservation of Punjabi heritage was inaugurated on July 11at the open air theater of the college.

Jalandhar, July 13, 2024: A 10-day Punjabi folk dance Bhangra training camp for the preservation of Punjabi heritage was inaugurated on July 11at the open air theater of the college. 

The chief guest of the opening ceremony of this camp was Vice Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur. She was welcomed by Dr. Palwinder Singh, Dean Cultural Affairs, Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Balraj Kaur and the organizing committee with a bouquet of flowers. 

Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh in his message stated the purpose of the camp and said that Lyallpur Khasla College is continuously working for the promotion of Bhangra. This Bhangra camp is making a valuable contribution in nurturing new artistes. 

Vice Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur said that such camps connect young Punjabis to their heritage. She added that the youth and children should take benefits from such camps. She also described the college as a leader in conducting the Bhangra World Camp by presenting Bhangra on the world stage and said that Lyallpur Khalsa College is the best institution to preserve and develop the heritage of Bhangra. 

On this occasion, in-charge of Bhangra training camp and Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina welcomed everyone and informed that the registration of this camp was done online and offline in which more than 400 students are participating. 

Prof. Satpal Singh played the role of stage manager. 

The students of the college taught the steps of folk dances to the students who had come. 

On this occasion, Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Balraj Kaur, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Dr. Harjinder Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Prof. Mandeep Singh, Prof. Kiratpreet Kaur, Prof. Kirandeep Kaur, Prof. Ritika Sharma, Prof. Sandeep Kaur, students of Bhangra, Gidha and Ludi teams of the college also participated.
