10-Days Vocational Training Course on Dairy Farming conducted at KVK Amritsar
Punjab Agriculture University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar conducts various training courses to promote subsidiary occupations. Under this series vocational training course on "Dairy farming" was conducted from 08.05.2023 to 19.05.2023 in which 23 farmers participated.

Under this series vocational training course on "Dairy farming" was conducted from 08.05.2023 to 19.05.2023 in which 23 farmers participated. At the beginning of the program, Dr. Bikramjit Singh, Associate Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar gave a hearty welcome to the guests and farmers and enlightened them about the services rendered by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar.
Dr. Kanwarpal Singh Dhillon, Assistant Professor, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar acted as course coordinator and imparted detailed knowledge on various topics of dairy farming during the training course including breeding, housing, clean milk production, balanced feed formulation, value addition of milk and milk products and dairy animals diseases and its prevention.
Dr. Jugraj Singh Mahal, Assistant Professor, GADVASU, Ludhiana shared information about the management of breeding problems and infertility in dairy animals.
Dr. Wariyam Singh, Deputy Director, Dairy Development, Amritsar, interacted with trainees regarding government funded schemes.
Banking facilities for dairy farming was informed by Jaskirat Singh AGM, NABARD and Sandeep Sidhu from SBI bank, Amritsar.
An exposure visit was arranged to the farm of a progressive dairy farmer Dr. Alamjit Singh of village Nagal Panuan where trainees had a direct interaction and cleared their doubts.
