10th Annual Athletic Meet organized at Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health
Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health, Sector 23-A, Chandigarh today organized its 10th Annual Athletic Meet. The Opening Ceremony was graced by the Presence of Prerna Puri, Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration as a Chief Guest. Dr. Sapna Nanda, principal of the college, sports incharge Dr. Anupma Kaushal and Dr. Sumant Batish along with senior faculty of the college welcomed the Chief Guest.

Chandigarh, March 27, 2025: Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health, Sector 23-A, Chandigarh today organized its 10th Annual Athletic Meet. The Opening Ceremony was graced by the Presence of Prerna Puri, Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration as a Chief Guest. Dr. Sapna Nanda, principal of the college, sports incharge Dr. Anupma Kaushal and Dr. Sumant Batish along with senior faculty of the college welcomed the Chief Guest.
The Programme commenced with the inauguration of the meet by unfurling the college flag by the Chief Guest Prerna Puri, Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration and was followed by march past and oath taking ceremony by the athletes. While addressing the guests & students she shared her insight about the significance of sports in life and motivated them for the whole-hearted participation.
In the morning session, various events like 50 metre race, Three-Legged Race, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw were performed by students with great zeal. In afternoon, in addition to these athletic events, the college organized various fun games and activities such as wheel & Barrow Race, Thread and Needle Race, Lemon and Spoon Race, Tug of War, Musical Chair etc, Staff and Students for promoting teamwork, camaraderie and sportsmanship and everyone enjoyed above mentioned adventures games immensely.
Dr. Richa Rathee, Additional Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Ceremony. She gave away the prizes to the winners and congratulated them for their enthusiastic performance. Nitin Thakur was declared the best athlete (Boys) and Maphi was declared as the best athlete (Girls).
Dr. Sumant Batish read Annual Sports Report and highlighted the students glorious achievements at various levels. Vote of thanks was delivered by Rajiv Uppal senior faculty member of the college and the event concluded with the National Anthem.
